Why CrisisGuy?
Imagine you are the head of a major company and you suddenly hear that a plane carrying 50 of your staff has crashed. How do you cope? Where do you start to pick up the pieces? How do you tell the families of the people involved? How do you deal with the media?
These are horrible situations that most companies thankfully will never have to face. But for those who do, the ability to survive such a disaster will almost certainly depend on specialist crisis management. This is what I do.
When I started work as a qualified doctor, I worked in Medical Assistance and Repatriation and was involved in over 1,000 repatriations from more than 80 countries. I saw at first hand many crisis incidents such as coach crashes, hotel fires, floods and accidents, all of which involved serious injuries and fatalities.
I was shocked that many big companies were so unable to handle these events. And so I set up docleaf in 1998 to provide the skills and knowledge to handle, prepare and manage these crisis situations.
Since then my company has worked with over 250 clients around the world, and has managed a full range of crises and risk issues. We are now recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialists in Crisis Management and Communications. I regularly speak on crisis issues and am frequently asked for expert opinion by the media. I have been invited to speak at major events in many countries including, the US, Australia, Mexico, Kenya, Italy, Sweeden, Germany, Holland, Thailand, Bali, Dubai and the Caribbean.
One of the things I love about working in this area is the chance to really help senior people in all types of company to really make a difference in protecting their people and their reputations.
